How do I execute a SAS® program locally?

To execute a SAS program locally,

  1. While in the editor, activate the Execution Mode / Execution Location Options dialog window as shown below by selecting the Execute tab winthin the Editor Configuration Option window.  The Editor Configuration Option window can be activated by selecting the Editor Configuration menu item from the Option menu of the Editor.

  2. Click on the Local check box (as shown above) under the Execution Location section of the Execute tab.
  3. Make sure that the local copy of SAS® is installed in the location denoted by the Execution Path.
  4. Optionally, click on the Configuration button to enter additional command line parameters.

Once you have completed the above steps, each time you submit the program for execution, ASAP ™ will automatically invoke the copy of SAS located in the Execution Path in batch mode to execute the program.   Once the execution is completed,  ASAP ™ will automatically copy the execution log and execution output to the same directory as the SAS program and display them in the log and output tab respectively.
